Delete your Wordbeard account
You can delete your account in the app (fastest) or by email. Either way, your captain is unreachable at once and its data is permanently deleted 30 days later.
Option 1: in the app
- Open Wordbeard and go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account and confirm. You need an internet connection.
The game wipes its progress from your phone and starts fresh as a new captain. It keeps your sound, accessibility and picker settings and your age answer.
Option 2: by email
- Find your Captain ID. It is at the bottom of the game’s Settings screen; tap it to copy it.
- Email it to us with the subject “Delete my Wordbeard account”:
We will delete the account and reply to confirm within 30 days, usually much sooner. We do not store names or email addresses, so the Captain ID is how we find your account. Please send the full ID, not your captain name.
After an email deletion, uninstall the game or clear its data on every phone that has it. Otherwise the phone still holds your progress and uploads it as a new anonymous captain the next time it goes online.
If you no longer have the game
- If you linked a Google account: install Wordbeard and open Settings. Tap Link Google account and choose the same Google account, then confirm Switch to that captain. Once you are back on that captain, use Option 1. Or email us and say so; we will tell you what we can do.
- If you did not link a Google account and do not have your Captain ID: uninstalling removed the key that signs your phone in, and we hold no name or email that could identify you. That means we cannot tell which captain was yours. Email us anyway with anything you remember, such as your captain name or friend code, and we will tell you whether we can find the account.
What is deleted, and what is kept
- Straight away: your Google link and device key are removed, your sign-in sessions end, and your captain leaves the all-time leaderboards. Nobody can sign in to the account any more.
- After 30 days, permanently: your cloud save, Daily, Weekly and campaign runs, Doubloon and Ration records, mailbox, emblems, captain name, friend code, friends (including your place in other players’ friends lists) and gameplay statistics.
- Kept without any link to you: your past Daily and Weekly placings stay on those puzzles’ boards as “Anonymous Captain”, with their timing and details removed, and anonymous daily totals such as how many players finished a puzzle. Crash reports carry no account ID and are deleted automatically within 90 days.
